The Motto of Josuikan

Be the person who is essencial for the society as water is essential for our lives.

Water is a must for all creatures in the world. Water changes its shape but does not change its essential.

 What is the person who is necessary for the society? We think as follows: the person who is required for everyone and is loved by everyone. All people can think highly of others when people find sense of their own identities and regard their owns highly. It is not until people think highly of each other that people can feel happy to be human beings and share happiness with others.

 We have water in abundance in my country. We usually don’t consider the importance of water. No other thing is more essential for all creatures than water.

 Our founder believed that we all had the ability to make others happy as well as ourselves. The ability consists of four elements: intelligence, virtue, physical power, and skill.

We have all these elements but we have them differently. So all people are different. This difference is what we call “individuality”.

We believe that our mission in life is to live for others’ welfare as well as for ourselves. From this, our school’s aim is to offer the place to our students where they can develop their intelligence, train their body, improve their skills thinking virtue.

Josuikan Junior High School

This course support students to enroll target universities for six years (junior high & senior high). Students can participate in club activities.

This class consists of three groups: Drama Specialty Group, English International Specialty Group and Sports Specialty Group. Each student take four classes of his or her specialty per a week.

S Class

The S class is designed for students who pursue to enter prestigious universities such as Tokyo university, Kyoto university and so on. Being tied up with a major cram school Yoyogi Zeminar, we provide students with up-to date information about universities and strongly support them by our prominent know-how. Each class is small. We help them to reach their own goal by the shortest way.

V Class

This class is suitable for those students who will work sparing themselves to enroll top-ranked universities and who will be highly involved in their club activities with the pursuit to enroll public and national universities. The confidence and the mental toughness gained through your hard and continuous work will lead you to success no matter what situation you are in.

~Comprehensive & Expression Course~

Expression Class  ~Drama Specialty~

Students in this specialty learn skills and knowledge required for a performer. We give lessons in collaboration with Department of Art, Nihon University, and hold a workshop, or special lecture such as theatrical performance, dance, voice-training, stage acoustics and so on in order for students to learn professional skills.

Expression Class  ~English International Specialty~

We foster students who gain enough language ability and cosmopolitan outlook to deal with Internationalization. English conversation class is all taught by native English teachers. We will plan one-year studying abroad program to second year students. We help students with various English proficiency tests such as TOEIC , TOEFL, and STEP test.

We offer Overseas Studies Programs (long-term) in Australia and Hawaii.The students of this course go to Hawaii to study English as school excursion in the first year.

We give high priority to career guidance. We support students to find their career which they will pursue in the future and support them to motivate themselves to study on their own accord and to be able to put it into practice. We also emphasize on individual counseling, help students to improve their writing skills and help all the students to enroll in universities that they wish to.

~Synthetic Elective Course~

This course is designed for students who want to find the way they pursue at their own pace. In the second year, the students select one class: one is the class that support students to find a job. the other is the class that support to pass university entrance exams.

The History of Josuikan

●1940

Mihara Engineering School was founded.

●1948

Mihara Engineering Junior High School was attached to Mihara Engineering High School as the result of the reformation of the educational system.

●1952

The Girls’ Commercial Course was established.

●1966

Midorigaoka Girl’s Commercial High School was established. ( The Girls’ Commercial Course was independent as Midorigaoka Girl’s Commercial Course.)

●1968

The name “Mihara Engineering High School” was changed to “Yamanaka Gakuen”. And the name “Mihara Engineering Junior High School” was changed to “Mihara Junior High School”.

●1975

Mihara Junior High School was closed.

●1994

Josuikan High School was established and moved to Fukamachi town. (now the main campus)

(Mihara engineering High School and Midorigaoka Girl’s High School were integrated.)

●1997

Josuikan Junior High School was established.

●2003

The 63rd anniversary of school foundation
